Certificate in Education: Health EducationThe overall aim of the course is to enable teachers to develop their own professional skills to teach and promote health within schools and their local communities. Participants will develop an understanding of the definitions around health and health promotion and its importance. Child centred and action based methodologies will be employed which are inherent in the Child-to-Child approach. The nature and importance of skills related to health education and its implications will be explained and participants will be guided towards identifying health education needs in their own schools and plan and execute health education activities and monitor and evaluate these. Reflective practise will be used to review and assess healthy school initiatives.
