Getting Started with Drop.ioDrop.io is a simple, real-time sharing, collaboration and presentation tool. Use Drop.io to privately share your files and collaborate in real time by web, email and more. Create each drop in two clicks and share what you want, how you want, with whom you want. Getting started with Drop.io is very quick and easy. Using Drop.io doesn’t require registration and is completely free for up to 100 mb of storage. You can create as many Drop.io ‘Drops’ or pages for free. Some of the things that you do with Drop.io may include posting slide shows, documents and audio/video clips, posting lectures and outlines, posting rubrics, posting links for your students and even collecting student assignments without cluttering your email inbox!
Create a Drop in three steps
Enter your email address and click on done. You will receive an email which will have details on your drop and an administrator password. Your Drop pageHere is what your drop page will look like. Securing your Drop pageOnce you are logged in, use the Settings option to make administrative changes to your page
Your administrative settings page should look like this. To make your drop page secure, especially look at the sections on Guest Permissions and Access Control.
Assign guest permissions to make your Drop secure. Select options from the check list provided and save settings.
Set a guest password, save settings and only send it along with the drop URL to those you want to give access to your Drop page. You will get a confirmation once the password is set. You can also remove the password later if you feel your page doesn’t need one. Once you make these changes, only those who have been given the URL and password will be able to view your drop page.
Logging outYou and your guest must log out each time you are done with using your drop page by clicking on the x.
