Basic User Guide: Elluminate Live!
Hardware requirement
- PC with Internet Connection (minimum 28.8kbps dialup connection speed)
- Head phone with microphone for audio conversation (Mandatory)
- Webcam for video transmitting (Optional)
Basic usage guidelines
- Java updates will install automatically
It may take few minutes to install updates the first time, depending on
the internet speed, so make sure that when you are using Elluminate Live! for the first time login at least 30 minutes before the session is about to start.
Please ensure that your institution’s firewall does not block Java


- Once you are logged in, set the connection speed according to your
available bandwidth


- You will now see the virtual room interface


- During the session the following indicators show that either you are connected or disconnected to the session


- When you wish to speak, click on the talk button. It will turn yellow indicating that the microphone is available for you to speak. After talking click on the same talk button to release the microphone for others to use



- Participant window shows the list of participants who are present in the session and their status


- The chat window for text messaging can be used to communicate private messages with other participant(s) or to send questions, ideas while others are speaking to the entire room


- Among other things, the moderator can upload a presentation on the white board
