Do I need to be a computer expert? Do I need to have access to a computer to take courses through the Distance learning mode?

Having access to a computer and Internet would be an added advantage as it would allow you to contact your tutor and peers regularly. In some course, access to Internet and computer is a pre-requisite.

What kind of support is available to students?

  • Academic support by the course tutor

  • Library support

  • Administrative support

Will students be able to meet their teachers?

In some cases, yes. Students will be able to meet their teachers if they are geographically close by. Students will also have contact with their teachers through email, phone, letter, or online discussion forums.

How do I register?

For all courses you can enroll through the Office of the Registrar at AKU-IED.


What are the registration deadlines?

Registration deadlines are different for all courses. The deadlines are established by the Academic Administration office.

Who can take courses offered through the Distance Learning mode?

AKU-IED distance education courses are offered to in-service teachers, teacher educators, educational leaders and professional development teachers.
