Health Promotion in SchoolsThis course provides an international as well as a national perspective on health promotion in schools. It pays special attention to the issues of children’s participation in health and development. It also focuses on developing an effective partnership between schools and communities by introducing participants to innovative approaches to health education. The course is spread over four themes which considers a range of strategies to translate ideas into action and builds on student’s personal experiences and interests. Issues of children’s participation, gender issues as well as community’s participation in responding to various health issues are central to all themes. Case studies are used throughout to illustrate good practices as well as good learning. For more information, please contact Dr. Shabnam Ahmed <shabnam.ahmed@aku.edu>.
