Science I

The major aim of Science 1 is to prepare practicing teachers to take the role of exemplary teachers and as teacher educators. CPs will develop an understanding of the practice and theory of science teaching. The philosophical framework for the content and pedagogy of the science course is based on constructivist approaches to teaching and learning. As teachers CPs will be expected to develop an understanding of the goals of science and obtain a deeper understanding of the nature of science to help them understand and challenge their own conceptions about science.
