Uploading a File as a Resource in Moodle
To add a file as a resource in Moodle, begin by clicking on ‘Turn Editing On’.


Click on the drop down arrow in the ‘Add a Resource’ panel and select, ‘Link to a file or web site’.

Give your resource a name and provide a brief description of the resource.
Click on ‘Choose or upload a file’.

Click on ‘Upload a File’.

Click on ‘Browse’ and select a file that you want to upload.
Click on ‘Upload this file’ when you are done with selecting your file.

You will get a notification that your file has been uploaded successfully and is now available in your File folder.
Click on ‘Rename’ if you wish to rename the file.
Click on ‘Choose’ to select the file that you want to upload

Once your file is selected, use the drop down arrow in the ‘Window’ option and select ‘New window’.
Click on ‘Save and return to course’.

Your file upload will show as follows on your course website homepage. Click on the link to view/download the file. You can now ‘Turn Editing Off’.
