What is Distance Learning at AKU-IED?

Distance Education provides you with the choice to study when, where and how you want. If you are enrolled in an OL course at AKU-IED, you do not need to be on campus to take the course. Your course materials will be mailed to you and you can maintain correspondence with your tutor and the OL office through the Virtual Learning Environment, email, phone, fax or post.

AKU-IED 's aim is to make learning more accessible to teachers in various geographic regions and to increase the level of independence and flexibility in learning. Distance Education provides teachers with more choices of where, when, and how to learn and gives them the opportunity to acquire continued professional knowledge.

Each distance education course developed by AKU-IED goes through a formal approval and review process. The quality of courses is equal to that of courses taken through the face-to-face mode and courses are developed and taught by qualified and experienced AKU-IED faculty. The Aga Khan University certifies these courses in the same manner as face-to-face courses
