Aim of the course
The overall aim of the course is to enable teachers to develop
their own professional skills to teach and promote health within
schools and their local communities.
Outcomes of the course
On successful completion of this course, participants would have:
- Explored the definitions around health and health promotion;
- Discussed and debated the importance of health promotion in
schools;
- Explored the importance of skills related to health education
and their implications;
- Used child-centered and action-based methodologies inherent
in the Child-to-Child approach for health promotion in schools;
- Developed a school health action plan based on the health needs
in their own schools;
- Learnt to identify ways of and develop checklists for monitoring
and evaluating school health education activities;
- Use reflective practice in order to continually review and
assess your school health initiatives.
